American actress Joan Van Ark is most famous for her role of Valene Ewing on the long-running series Dallas. She then continued the role through Dallas’ spin-off show, Knot’s Landing, for 13 seasons. Van Ark appeared in many other shows including Love Boat, The Six Million Dollar Man, Bonanza, and M*A*S*H.

Her work as Valene Ewing brought her the Soap Opera Digest Award two times. Later, she returned to Dallas for its 2013 reboot. More recently she did voice work for the animated series Archer, and has also appeared as a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race. What happened next didn’t help her looks in any way…
