In her first major role in Cactus Flower in 1969, Goldie Hawn won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. It was a serious role as Walter Matthau’s suicidal fiance. She’s best known, however, for her comedic performances and perhaps her best-loved role is that of the eponymous Private Benjamin for which she also won an Academy Award.

Hawn parlayed her good looks and natural blonde into a career that has spanned several decades.
