Robert Downey Jr. Couldn’t Stay Clean For FOX

Robert Downey Jr. won a Golden Globe for his performance in FOX’s Ally McBeal. The show loved him so much it even supported him after he got arrested for cocaine possession. When he got busted a second time, FOX cut ties with the troubled actor and suddenly he was leaving Ally at the season’s end instead of marrying her.

Downey Jr. credits the firing for getting himself cleaned up. He has remained clean and sober since the embarrassing firing. In 2008, he starred in Iron Man and launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
