Boat Didn’t Go So Gently Down the Stream
In summer of 2013 at Cedar Point guests were on the Shoot the Rapids water ride when there was a system malfunction. The boat was climbing up the ride’s lift hill when it lost traction and began to roll back down the track. The boat then flipped, injuring seven people, who were stranded in the water for several minutes before park staff was able to reach them. The ride was closed and opened a few times before closing permanently and dismantled in winter of 2015.
