Trainers Attacked by Cougars at Discovery Kingdom

When dealing with wild animals, you never know what’s going to happen. In 1996 at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, California a trainer went into the cougar enclosure to take one of the big cats for a walk. The two cougars in the enclosure had been playing aggressively with each other when the trainer walked in. The cougars wanted the trainer to play too and began pawing at him and pinning him down, severely cutting his face and upper body. The other trainer entered the enclosure and suffered cuts while rescuing him.
