Action Park Most Deadly in Nation

Located in Vernon, New Jersey, Action Park was dubbed the most dangerous theme park in America after deaths and accidents scarred the park’s reputation. In 1984 a 20-year-old drowned in the Tidal Wave Pool, followed by a death of an 18-year-old three years later. A total of six deaths occurred at the park (one of the first to open in the nation) and patrons jokingly referred to it as “Accident Park” and “Class Action Park”. The poor safety record of the park caused it to close in 1996.
