It’s not new to see celebrities making political statements.

This has become massive since Trump moved into the White House.

Last night at the Oscars was no different.

Emblazoned on the ribbon is the initials ACLU, which stands for The American Civil Liberties Union.

Ruth Negga, pictured here, is particularly close to the ACLU, which is why it means a lot to see her wearing the ribbon.

Her movie, Loving, features the work of the ACLU.

For those not in the know, the ACLU is a non-profit organization that campaigns for and defend the individual civil liberties of all Americans.
