Whenever I’m ill, I like to curl up with my pets. Just the fact that they’re close to me when I’m feeling so ill makes me feel a lot better because I know I’m alone.
Pets love attention, no matter, no matter who it’s from.
They love being fussed and stroked, it makes them happier. But what pets don’t understand is that by letting us fuss them, we too find a great deal of comfort from it.
The relationship between humans and ‘pets’ is pretty incredible. For obvious reasons.
But what’s even more incredible is the relationship between this therapy cat and the sick people it regularly visits.
The use of animals as therapy has become more common in recent years. It helps to destress many people, so more and more universities and hospitals have started utilizing them.
This cat is called Duke Ellington Morris is doing all of that and more when he goes to visit critically ill patients at UCSF medical hospital.
Duke works with the staff as a form of therapy for those in the ICU.
